Elanjua Nicole Current

Nicole Current’s more than 30 years of service to the United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW) reflect a career marked by courage, excellence, and steadfast commitment to working people.

She currently serves as the top Administrative Assistant to the UAW Vice President of the General Motors and Gaming Department, making history as the first woman and first person of color to hold this position in the 90-year relationship between the UAW and General Motors. In this influential role, Nicole helps support labor relations affecting over 50,000 hourly UAW-represented workers across General Motors and the casino industry nationwide. As a trusted leader in a traditionally male-dominated field, she stood at the table during the 2019 and 2023 national bargaining negotiations, helping secure historic wage increases and meaningful gains for UAW members at General Motors, MGM Grand, MotorCity, and Hollywood Casinos.
