Dr. Deanna L. Stewart is the Founder and Executive Director of Equity Alliance of Michigan, a community development organization advancing inclusive economic growth and family stability. Through its Pillars: Entrepreneurship, Empowerment, and Employment Mobility, the organization delivers programs and resources designed to create long-term opportunity and economic mobility. Dr. Stewart is passionate about helping entrepreneurs transform vision into action through practical tools, guidance, and hands-on support.
With over 35 years of experience, Dr. Stewart advanced from entry-level roles to senior leadership in Corporate America while leading nonprofit organizations serving underserved communities. This dual-path career drives her people-centered, results-focused leadership style and her ability to provide meaningful, community-wide impact.
Dr. Stewart holds a Ph.D. in Human and Social Services, a Master’s Degree in Human Resources, and a Master’s Degree in Social Work. She serves on the Board of Directors for Community Development Advocates of Detroit, extending her leadership across Detroit’s ecosystem.
