Donetta Houser-Sly

Detroit native, Donetta Houser-Sly, is a distinguished Human Resources leader guided by her priorities of faith, family, and community. Donetta serves as HR Director for Amazon’s North America Operations People, Experience & Technology organization, leading over 4,000 HR professionals across the U.S. and Canada. She joined Amazon in 2021 after 30+ years at General Motors, where she earned the GM “Excellence in Leadership Award” and provided HR services to 40+ plants and 65,000+ employees. She received her BA from Central Michigan University and MS from Walsh College. Donetta received Amazon’s 2024 “Renaissance Woman” award for outstanding professional accomplishments. Her commitment to mentoring spans multiple generations. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and The Links, Incorporated. She serves on the Focus: Hope Board of Directors and represents Amazon as title sponsor for the Magic City Classic, the nation’s largest HBCU sporting event.
