Black women are rewriting the narrative of gratitude and power, united in an unprecedented tribute to Vice President Kamala Harris. Win With Black Women (WWBW), a dynamic collective devoted to elevating Black women’s leadership, has mobilized over 10,500 supporters in an open letter honoring Harris for her groundbreaking achievements, steadfast leadership, and transformative impact. This movement, born of the same determination that carried Harris to the vice presidency, sends a clear and powerful message: Black women stand strong, lifting each other higher as they forge ahead.

The letter highlights Vice President Harris’s significant impact on key issues including voting rights, economic justice, healthcare, and the fight against systemic inequalities. It also celebrates her lasting influence as the first woman, the first Black individual, and the first person of South Asian descent to serve as Vice President of the United States.

Social impact strategist and founder of Win With Black Women Jotaka Eaddy highlighted Vice President Harris’s tenure as the first woman and first Black Vice President of the United States, which represents an unwavering commitment to justice and equality that will not be dismantled.

“Her leadership serves as inspiration to countless individuals, especially Black women, children, daughters, sisters, mothers, and grandmothers, showing that with determination and vision, barriers can be broken and progress can be achieved,” Eaddy said.

“The thousands of women who signed this letter show the world that even as President Trump works to reverse the progress our nation and Black women everywhere have made, we will continue to work together and vow to never give up.”

Win With Black Women has championed Vice President Harris since her historic rise, from celebrating her selection as President Biden’s running mate in 2020 to galvanizing support for her 2024 campaign. Together, WWBW and its members have mobilized resources, raising over $20 million through 200 pro-Harris affinity groups and more than $3 million for the Harris-Walz ticket.

Holli Holliday, President of Sisters Lead Sisters Vote and a WWBW partner, emphasized the group’s commitment to advancing the Vice President’s legacy and mission.

“Black women have always been at the forefront of progress in this country. Vice President Harris has opened doors that many thought were impenetrable,” Holiday said.

“We are resolute in continuing her work and ensuring that the change she embodies reaches every corner of our communities.”

The letter, signed by thousands of women from all walks of life, also features notable leaders and community servants, including:

  • Rev. Shavon Arline-Bradley
  • Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-3)
  • Donna L. Brazile
  • LaTosha Brown
  • Secretary Marcia Fudge
  • Symone Sanders Townsend
  • Angela Rye
  • Brittany Packnett Cunningham

These women, alongside a diverse coalition of grassroots organizers and community leaders, have rallied to celebrate the Vice President’s accomplishments and recommit to building a more equitable and inclusive future.

As challenges to equity and democracy persist, WWBW and its allies are determined to protect and expand upon the progress made under Vice President Harris’s leadership.

Melanie Campbell, President of the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation, acknowledged VP Harris’s service as a blueprint for what is possible when centered on justice and equity.

“The fight is far from over, but with Vice President Harris leading the charge, we are emboldened to keep moving forward,” Campbell said.
