On Friday morning Karen Dumas, host of 910 AM Superstation’s “The Pulse,” and her special guests discussed the new Detroit and how it’s shaping the future. Dumas, a former communications official for the City of Detroit will offer insight on the importance of community as Detroit changes, grows and evolves.

Allyson Martinek will share her experiences as a radio host in Detroit for over 20 years on April 8. She will meet and greet customers and read passages from her new book, “Living On Air: A Radiogirl’s Quest For Fairness and Happily Ever After.”

Karen Dumas is a communications professional/media personality/public speaker committed to excellence, entrepreneurship and equality.  She is also the former Chief of Communications & External Affairs for Mayor Dave Bing and the City of Detroit. Dumas recently returned to the air at 910 AM Detroit where her show The Pulse with Karen Dumas airs weekdays 4-7 p.m.

Alyson Martinek has been a mainstay on Detroit airwaves for the past two decades. A popular television host and beloved radio host, her morning show had been a favorite not only to local listeners but to an audience across the country until her departure in 2015. Her new book, “Living on Air” chronicles her experiences including her shocking firing from the station she devoted her life to.
