The day has finally arrived! After months of construction and anticipation…Whole Foods Detroit is now officially open!!!
There will be alot of exclusive local products from Detroit, along with all the same great items like fresh meats and produces that are associated with Whole Foods. There are over 125 products that are made in Michigan and 70% of the workforce is from Detroit.
The opening ceremony includeded remarks from the Detroit Whole Foods leadership team, along with comments from Detroit Mayor Dave Bing,
“This didn’t happen by happenstance…there were a lot of people who were non-belivers in terms of what it takes to bring our city back. Today is just one step in making sure that the dreams and the visions we have for our city can become a reality.”
The store officially opened at 9 a.m. with a bread-ribbon that was made especially for today being broken, instead of the traditional red-ribbon cutting.
