White House Condemns ‘Horrific’ Video of Border Patrol Agents Chasing Haitian Immigrants

What might invoke images of slavery for some is bringing about a sense of rage for others in search of justice.

Whip-yielding US Border Patrol agents on horseback were seen in recent videos and photographs confronting Haitian refugees at the US border attempting to flee Haiti, CNN reported.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said on Monday that the White House is looking for more information on what they call “horrific” viral videos.

“I’ve seen some of the footage. I don’t have the full context. I can’t imagine what context would make that appropriate, but I don’t have additional details, and certainly I don’t have additional context,” Psaki said at the White House press briefing in the article. “I don’t think anyone seeing that footage would think it was acceptable or appropriate.”
The videos were taken by Al Jazeera and Reuters that unveiled the law enforcement male officers (who were seemingly all white) using what is described as aggressive methods to prevent the migrants from coming into the country, like motioning their (whips) described as long reins near the migrants who crossed the US-Mexico border near Del Rio, Texas, according to the article.
This occurs near a crowded makeshift Del Rio encampment where migrants in the thousands — including families, pregnant women and babies — have been under the Del Rio International Bridge, according to the article. They have slept in the dirt, faced deplorable conditions — all with the desire to be “processed by the overwhelmed US Border Patrol” according to the article.
