A new tell all book details how a young, stunning chanteuse nearly drove a permanent wedge between pop music’s royal couple, Beyonce and Jay Z.
The new book reportedly settles whether Jay Z and his then young and unknown protege Robyn Rihanna Fenty had a romantic tryst behind Queen Bey’s back.
The book, Becoming Beyonce, by celebrity journalist J. Randy Taraborrelli, claims that Bey and Jay had wen through a tumultuous period in their relationship where both were obsessed with work and not getting along because the stress of the music game was taking a toll on both of them. They had begun taking their frustrations out on each other, which is far from surprising because most people hurt the ones closest to them when under duress or stress.
“He felt that she was too concerned with [work] and overwhelmed by it…She also had a tendency to become moody and defensive when under great work pressure, and it had begun to drive a wedge between her and Jay,” Taraborrelli writes in his unauthorized biography, Being Beyonce, which will become available on October 27.
“The two broke up for a time during that year. She flat-out told him she needed a break,” he said, according to excerpts in the book published by radaronline.com.
While they took a reprieve from one another, rumors swirled that the rapper had begun romancing the brash Barbadian beauty, Rihanna, who was just 17 years old at the time and fresh off the islands.
The truth of the matter is that the former member of Rihanna’s camp confessed to Taraborrelli concocted the story of Rihanna romancing a powerful hip hop impresario in order to generate buzz around the little-known star.
The machination worked. Too well. Beyonce is one person who believed the gossip, especially since Jay and RiRi were spending time together to launch what has become a monstrous, record-breaking career.
“Beyonce wasn’t sure she could trust Jay when it came to his adamant denials,” he writes. “She couldn’t help but be skeptical.”
The author claims that the tension spilled over like hot molten lava during a fight one night at Jay’s 40/40 club in Manhattan.
“All that was heard…was Rihanna’s name uttered several times, before Beyonce stood up and stormed off,” Taraborelli alleges.

However, the author claims that the name Rihanna is rarely if ever broached in the Carter household and that RiRi remains a sore subject in the couple’s relationship, even for years after their 2008 wedding.
Taraborrelli also makes the claim that Jay’s infamous elevator battle with Beyonce’s little sister Solange after the 2014 Met Gala was over his suggestion that they attend a party hosted by Rihanna.
If that part is true, it definitely wasn’t be best suggestion.
