2. Michigan F.A.S.H. Fest Runway Industry Showcase. Head downtown this Saturday as the fashion industry takes Detroit by storm. Michigan F.A.S.H. Fest is this Saturday, September 8 from 8pm-12am on Library St. in Downtown Detroit
3. Sunday at 1pm the Lions host their first home game of the regular season against St. Louis Rams at Ford Field
4. This is the last weekend to witness The Art of Jerry Pinkney at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. Jerry Pinkney is a master of the American picture book; his heart-warming stories explore the African-American experience in words and pictures. The museum is open Friday and Saturday from 9am-5pm and Sunday from 1pm-5pm. The exhibit is free, however the regular price of admission into the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History is still in effect. Admission: $8/adults, $5/ages 3-12, free/under 3
5. September 7 and 8 go out to the Palace of Auburn Hills and see the 1970’s cult classic The Rocky Horror Show. The show starts at 8pm both days and doors open at 6:30. The cost is 22.50 for reserved seating and 17.50 for general admission.
6. The 2012 Wright Gala Benefit: For The Love Of Literacy. Promising to surpass last year’s Dance Theatre of Harlem: 40 Years of First Gala in both style and fundraising substance, the 2012 Wright benefit gala, La Bibliotheque, takes place Saturday, Sept. 8, at 7:30 pm, at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, 315 E. Warren Ave, in Midtown Detroit Cultural Center.
7. Starting in 1992, the All Media Exhibition has been a beacon for artist in Michigan. The show will feature works and awards to the state’s brightest artists. The show will be held at the Ann Arbor Art Center and runs from Sept. 7 to Oct. 21st. Call (734) 944-8004 for more information.
8. Dally in the Alley: One of the greatest festivals of the season, Dally has always been one of Detroit’s most diverse. Art of all sorts will be available at the festival and expect to hear lost of new tunes as well as please your taste buds with some Detroit favorites. Dally is free of charge and runs from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. in the alleyways of the North Cass community just a block south of Wayne State.
