As part of the Detroit school’s Wayne State Guarantee program, some students are able to attend Wayne State University for free, FOX 2 Detroit reported.
This will be made possible, according to WSU, by a mix of federal, state, and other grants and scholarships.Michigan residents who qualify for Pell Grants, as well as the majority of households with incomes of $70,000 or less and assets of $50,000 or less, have the opportunity to attend the institution without incurring any out-of-pocket costs. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which must be finished each year, will verify this.
The scholarship is available to first-year students beginning in the fall of 2023, according to the institution. If they fulfill certain criteria, students will have the opportunity to renew it.
Students who enroll in 12 or more credits per semester will be eligible for support for the fall and winter semesters.
WSU officials will formally unveil the new program and celebrate it that morning.
