Wayne County Partners With WCCCD to Host Three-Day Job Fair

Wayne County Executive Warren C. Evans and Wayne County alongside Dr. Curtis L. Ivery and the Wayne County Community College District (WCCCD) have forged a partnership to build a bridge between the college classroom and nearly 1,000 Wayne County careers. The program will initially focus on students in pursuit of careers in criminal and civil justice, business, and public health, however, job availability is not limited to these areas of expertise.

“I am excited about this mutually beneficial partnership with Wayne County Community College District; it will afford us the opportunity to build a stronger workforce in Wayne County by hiring well educated, culturally diverse and career ready individuals,” said County Executive Evans. “Additionally, it provides extra incentives for students to complete their studies knowing that this bridge into the workforce exists.”

The two partnering organizations will host an in-person job fair, on October 27th at WCCCD Downtown Campus (801 West Fort Street, Detroit, MI 48226) and October 28th at WCCCD Northwest Campus (8200 West Outer Drive, Detroit, MI 48219). Both events are open from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Wayne County will offer on-site interviews, on-site exams, and on-site job offers for critical positions. On October 29th, applicants can participate and apply for jobs virtually.  For applicants needing access to technology, computers will be available at the Center for Learning Technology at the WCCCD Downriver Campus in Taylor (21000 Northline Rd).

“Wayne County Community College District is pleased to be a talent development partner for the Wayne County Job & Career Fair providing access to economic viability with immediate employment opportunities critically needed by residents in our communities.” Said Dr. Ivery.

Open positions include:

All positions are open to both WCCCD students and the general public, based on qualifications. Applicants should have a valid driver’s license, three professional letters of reference and their most recent education transcripts (if applicable) when attending the job fair.
