In honor of Black History Month, Wayne County Community College District presents a calendar filled with dynamic presentations, lectures, and entertainment for the entire family. Journey to Midnight: Underground Rail Bus Tour –Tour includes stops to historic venues such as Finney Barn, the home of William Lambert and George DeBaptiste, as well as the home of William Webb; the bus tour will be conducted by Kimberly Simmons of the Detroit River Project. Two separate dates for this journey into history. Seats are limited.

The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks– Members of the Lacks family will discuss the influence of Henrietta Lacks who’s “HeLa” cells have changed modern medicine and research as well as the book The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. The book details the life and medical miracle of Henrietta Lacks and takes a look into the world of science.
