Wayne County adds 2 new cities for health care pilot program

The Wayne County Department of Health, Veterans and Community Wellness  has added Taylor and Harper Woods locations to its Wellness@thecommunity pilot program. With these additions, DHVCW now has satellite health care sites in four Wayne County communities to provide
• Tips for Healthy Eating
• Lead Testing Kits
• Head Start Enrollment
• Health Care Insurance Registration for Small Businesses
• WIC Enrollment
• Child and Adult Vaccinations
• Emergency Financial Aid for Veterans
• Tips For Healthy Gardening

Wayne County Executive Warren C. Evans said in his State of the County Address that one of his primary goals for 2016 is to increase access to health care for the citizens of Wayne County. The
Wellness@thecommunity pilot program helps to fulfill that goal by removing barriers to service with satellite locations where residents can receive a multiple services simultaneously.
