WATCH: Hill Harper’s First Sit-Down Interview After US Senate Campaign Launch

Detroit businessman and famed “CSI: NY” and “The Good Doctor” actor Hill Harper announced his bid for the Michigan U.S. Senate seat that will be vacated by retiring Sen. Debbie Stabenow after the November 2024 statewide elections.

Harper sat down in STUDIO 1452 at Michigan Chronicle to talk about why he decided to run for public office and the issues he plans to campaign on in a One-on-One interview with Digital Anchor Andre Ash.

Harper rolled out his announcement in a video release which chronicled his recorded message to his son, Pierce.

“Fighting for what you believe in is worth it, especially because I’m fighting for you,” Harper says in the video post. “I’m running for Senate because I want to build a safer, better world for you. I hope to make you proud.”

In his interview, he professed he’s not running to be a politician.

“Politicians to me have taken on the connotation of them acting as if the seat is some type of coronation and if they win, they hold the seat. It’s really the people’s seat.

Harper lays out his vision and issues he’ll be campaigning on his full interview, available for viewing, below.
