Cleary University announces details of “Vehicle to a Better Future.” 2019 marks the fourth year of the event which is focused on connecting graduating seniors directly with business leaders and raising funds to support student enrichment programs, will take place on May 2, 5 – 10 p.m. at Cleary’s Johnson Center on the Livingston County campus.
Respected business executives and a two-time NBA Champion will partner with star chefs to compete for the Cleary Culinary Cup. The CEO/chef teams are as follows:
- Steven Bearden, Vice President, The Ted and Jane Von Voigtlander Foundation / Jeff Bane, Director of Food Service and Dean of Hospitality Programs
- James “Buddha” Edwards, The Piston Group / Max Hardy, Chef and Owner, River Bistro, and Coop Caribbean Fusion (Detroit Shipping Co.)
- David Snodgrass, CEO, Lake Trust Credit Union / Chris Landells, Executive Chef, 2FOG’s Pub
- Heather Ruby, CEO, ARC Engineering Solutions / Dawnmarie Chmiel, Lead Chef Instructor, Cleary University
- Don Simon, CEO, Farm Bureau Insurance / Luke Trinosky, Chef Instructor, Sur La Table
Each team will also be supported by a Cleary University graduating student and will be charged with preparing a world-class dish for event attendees.
Attendees will enjoy the friendly culinary competition, vehicles on display, cocktails, dinner and engage with Cleary University scholars. Proceeds directly benefit the academic, financial and social experience of Cleary University students. Each attendee will be eligible to win and “gift” the event’s signature prize drawing, a four-year tuition scholarship to Cleary University.
