Participating states in the holiday giving effort will include: California, Colorado, Ohio, Oregon, Missouri, Florida, Texas, Georgia, Indiana, New York, Virginia, Michigan, Tennessee, Kentucky, Connecticut, Wisconsin, New Jersey and North Carolina.

More than 700 volunteers including UAW-Ford members, retirees, families, friends, businesses, organizations and youth with assemble the food boxes at Ford Motor Company facilities nationwide.

“Planning a major community giving initiative like this takes a lot of planning and effort from people willing to dedicate their time and energy – and the results are always rewarding,” Ford Motor Company Vice President of Labor Affairs Bill Dirksen said.  “We want to do our part to make sure people have the opportunity to enjoy a traditional holiday meal with their families.”

UAW-Ford has a long history of giving back to the communities in which its members work. One of its most recent initiatives was a month-long breast cancer awareness campaign in October that included free mammogram screenings for local women.
