U-M Health Unveils 19th Annual Big Hearts for Seniors: Love Stories Fundraising Event

U-M Health’s Community Health Services is excited to announce its 19th Annual Big Hearts for Seniors fundraising event, Big Hearted Stories: Love Stories. The event will be held on Thursday, May 30th, 2024, at the Lydia Mendelssohn Theatre and Michigan League in Ann Arbor.

An Evening of Storytelling and Support

This special evening promises an engaging atmosphere filled with camaraderie and heartwarming stories. All proceeds will go towards supporting six vital community organizations at Michigan Medicine that serve older adults. The event is made possible with the generous support of sponsors, including Presenting Sponsor University of Michigan Health Advantage.

Esteemed Speakers and Storytellers

The event will be led by emcee Vic Strecher, Ph.D. MPH, a distinguished Professor of Health Behavior and Health Education at the U-M School of Public Health. Renowned bestselling author John U. Bacon will be the featured storyteller, joined by five other community members who will share their own unique stories.

Focus on Senior Wellbeing

“Our theme, ‘Big Hearts for Seniors: Love Stories,’ underscores our commitment to providing essential services for older adults in Washtenaw County,” said Alfreda Rooks, MPA, Director of Community Health Services. “These services ensure their physical, social, and emotional well-being. We’re grateful for the community’s support as we help seniors age with grace, dignity, and the ability to remain in their homes.”
