Two Detroit Chefs Battle it Out on CBS’ The Talk’s Food Face-Off

THE TALK’s “Food Face-Off” competition series will feature two Detroit based chefs, Quiana “Que” Broden, founder and executive chef of The Kitchen by Que and Max Hardy, owner and head chef of restaurants COOP Detroit and JEDs Detroit for a friendly burger battle for the title of “best burger” from 2-3 p.m. on Monday, January 30 on CBS.

Max Hardy, owner and head chef of Coop Detroit and JEDs Detroit, serving Caribbean fusion meals from locally sourced produce and ingredients from his Bahamian heritage. As a 15-year veteran, Chef Max is skilled in various culinary styles, including Caribbean, American, Asian, French, and Kosher cuisine.

He has completed and finished as a runner-up for The Food Network’s Chopped, featured on Beat Bobby Flay, and most recently competed in this season’s BBQ Brawl with the Food Network.

Quiana “Que” Broden, founder and executive chef of The Kitchen by Cooking, nestled in midtown, will bring her energetic charm and “eat to live” cooking style to the battle. Que recently announced that her second location will be opening in the avenue of fashion district, along Livernois and 7 Mile.

Both chefs will battle it out live on air as they create their signature burgers for the title of “best burger” judged by The Talk’s hosts. Chef Max will be making his 2022 Burger Battle-winning COOP Caribbean Fusion burger while, Chef Que will be making her notable “Oh Kale Yeah” burger.

“I’m looking forward to showcasing Detroit’s culinary talent on a national stage. And of course, I’m excited to have some friendly competition with chef Que. The hosts get to experience both our kitchen techniques, burger against burger, but either way Detroit is the winner and I love that,” Chef Hardy says.

“This is like a dream come true!! I’m so excited to share this opportunity with Max, who is like family to the kitchen and we get to represent Detroit together on a national stagewhich is a plus. I’m bringing my A -Game, so Max better be ready, because I’m coming with my game face-on,” Chef Que says.

The Talk can be viewed live locally on WWJ-TV (channel 62) and available to stream on Pluto TV, The Roku Channel, Paramount Plus, or Spectrum TV on your Roku device.
