Trump impeached for Second Time after Capitol Riot

US President Donald Trump was impeached by the U.S. House for a second time in this historic, dark moment in America, the Associated Press reported. Trump was charged with “incitement of insurrection” over the deadly mob attack of the U.S. Capitol during his final days in office days before the inauguration of the new administration.

Lawmakers, moving quickly and voted one week after violent thugs, pro-Trump supporters, stormed the Capitol, encouraged by Trump’s calls for them to “fight like hell” against the election results.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi encouraged lawmakers to uphold their oath to defend the Constitution from all enemies, foreign “and domestic,” according to the article.

“He must go, “ Pelosi said in the article of Trump. “He is a clear and present danger to the nation that we all love.”

The Capitol was turned into a heavily-guarded scene the day of impeachment, according to the report. Hundreds of National Guard members were stationed throughout the building, and also in the Rotunda, protecting lawmakers still dealing with the recent violence and readying themselves for President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration, the report added. A tunnel leading to House office buildings became a temporary tribute to members of law enforcement who protected the Capitol during the riot.
