A Department of Homeland Security advisor is threatening ICE presence at Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show.

During a recent appearance on right-wing podcaster Benny Johnson’s show, Corey Lewandowski, a senior adviser at Trump’s Department of Homeland Security, warned that ICE agents will be present at Super Bowl LX after Bad Bunny was named the headliner for the halftime show.

“There is nowhere that you can provide safe haven to people who are in this country illegally. Not the Super Bowl and nowhere else,” Lewandowski said.

“We will find you. We will apprehend you. We will put you in a detention facility, and we will deport you,” he continued. “That is a very real situation under this administration, which is completely contrary to how it used to be.”

The Super Bowl is set to take place on Feb. 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Puerto Rico native Bad Bunny, who is one of the most-streamed artists in the world, was announced as the halftime performer on Sunday (September 28).

The decision sparked outrage from MAGA conservatives, who slammed Bad Bunny for his Spanish performances and past criticism of Trump. Earlier this year, Bad Bunny said he would be avoiding U.S. cities on his current tour due to fears that “ICE could be outside” his venues.

Lewandowski criticized the NFL’s choice, calling it “so shameful” that Bad Bunny was selected for the high-profile show.

“There are plenty of great bands and entertainment people out there who could be playing at that show that would be bringing people together,” he said. “And not separating them.”
