Triumph Church Distributes Free Food, Essentials through Feed the Children’s Yearly Holiday Campaign

Triumph Church partnered with Feed the Children, a nonprofit organization focused on helping end childhood hunger, to bring No Hunger Holidays to hundreds of Detroit area families during the COVID-19 pandemic. They will provide families with food and essentials, according to a press release.

Each family will receive a 25-pound box of non perishable food such as canned green beans and pasta; a 10-pound box of daily essentials such as shampoo, conditioner, lotion and personal-care items; and bottled water. In Detroit alone, over 35% of the population lives below the poverty line, a number greatly impacted by COVID-19 and the economic instability it has brought.

No Hunger Holidays is a campaign created by Feed the Children to feed families during the holidays, as well as bring awareness to childhood hunger. Feed the Children is working with many corporate and community partners, volunteers and donors to make sure families receive much-needed food and daily essentials just in time for the holiday season, the press release added.

“Feed the Children is proud to partner with Triumph Church to help parents and caregivers who are struggling to feed their families,” said Travis Arnold, Feed the Children president and CEO, according to the release. “We know that when we combine our efforts, we have a greater impact on the lives of families who need us most—right here in Detroit.”
