Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Southfield Alumnae Chapter, (DST-SAC) will host Today’s Youth, Tomorrow’s Leaders Scholarship Banquet on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Farina’s Banquet Center located at 2485 Coolidge Highway in Berkley, Michigan. DST-SAC will award almost $20,000 in scholarships to over 25 students. The scholarship brunch will provide an opportunity for the awardees to receive their scholarships and will also honor exemplary educators who are members of DST-SAC.
“We are pleased to award this outstanding group of students for their academic achievements,” says Danita L. Wimbush, President, Southfield Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. “Our Sorority and chapter promote scholarship and reaching the highest levels one can obtain in their educational endeavors. We want to make ensure that we are providing opportunities for young people to reach their dreams.”
DST-SAC began its scholarship program in 1984, when the chapter was chartered. Over the past six years DST-SAC has awarded over $119,000. Students are selected based on their scholastic achievements, leadership qualities and involvement in their communities. Scholarship Brunch tickets are available for $20.
