TV personality Al Roker will broadcast live at the Detroit Riverfront during a “Today” show on Wednesday, June 29 and will later visit some of Detroit’s coney dog restaurants to film a segment for his food-based digital streaming show, according to a Detroit Free Press article.
American Coney Island and the Chili Mustard Onions (CMO) restaurant will be showcased in a special “Family Style with Al Roker” segment that will concentrate on Detroit’s Coney dogs, the Detroit News and WDIV-TV (Channel 4) reported in the article.
For the “Today” show, Roker will broadcast live starting at 6:30 a.m. at the Cullen Plaza at the Detroit Riverfront, according to the article. Guests are invited to attend but attendees must bring their COVID vaccination card, according to the article.
“Family Style with Al Roker” is a digital show where Roker eats various dishes around the nation while talking with family-owned businesses that are helping boost the food industry, according to the article.
CMO is a more recent Coney dog space in Detroit’s Brush Park neighborhood that features vegan hot dogs among other plant based ingredients, according to the article.
