The River Rouge Police Department is investigating the reported use of force on 17-year-old Maliyah Clary when she was arrested for driving with a permit but without an adult, Fox 2 reported.
Officers were seen via a police video yanking the teenager out of her mother’s SUV during a traffic stop back in February. One of them pointed their gun at Maliyah’s cousins who are 14 and 15 years old, the article added.
“I thought he was going to shoot us because we tried to get out the car,” Clary’s cousin Nevaeh Anderson said in the story.
“I wasn’t understanding why they were asking me to get out of the car,” Clary added. “So I was trying to ask them, why, what’s wrong? But they just grabbed me out of the car.”
