Metro Detroiters can support The Army’s efforts to provide food and hydration,
emotional and spiritual care
The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit is encouraging local residents looking to aid victims of the recent 7.8-magnitude earthquake in Nepal to support the The Salvation Army’s international disaster relief efforts by making a donation online at www.salmich.org or via phone at 1-800-SAL-ARMY (1-800-725-2769).
The Salvation Army is mobilizing emergency response personnel and supplies to support those impacted by the earthquake that has caused widespread damage across the region and killed more than 5,500 people.
In addition to providing emergency shelter, water and sanitation relief, The Salvation Army is also providing spiritual and emotional care, as well as communications support.
At this point, in-kind donations are not being accepted for earthquake relief due to logistical difficulty in transporting items overseas. However, these gifts are vitally important in supporting the day-to-day work of your local Salvation Army. Please consider giving these items to your local Salvation Army Family Store or dial 1-800-SA-TRUCK (1-800-728-7825).
