The Boy Is Mine Tour: Brandy and Monica Bring R&B Home to Detroit

R&B legends Brandy Norwood and Monica Brown are bringing their first-ever co-headlining fall tour to Detroit. The Boy Is Mine Tour, produced by the Black Promoters Collective, will arrive at Little Caesars Arena on Nov. 29, the tour schedule announced Tuesday by the duo on CBS Mornings.

The duo launched the tour in Cincinnati on Oct. 16 and will wrap in Houston on Dec. 7. Featuring 24 arena dates with staggered stops across the U.S., the highly anticipated tour pays tribute to their 1998 Grammy winning duet, “The Boy Is Mine,” which held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for 13 consecutive weeks, a rare achievement matched only by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey.

Joining them onstage is a powerhouse lineup of special guests, including Grammy-winning superstar Kelly Rowland, chart-topping singer-songwriter Muni Long, and rising star Jamal Roberts, the 2025 American Idol champion.

Last year, Brandy and Monica re-emerged into the spotlight with cameo appearances in Ariana Grande’s viral “The Boy Is Mine” remix video, which helped land a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, more than 25 years after their original Grammy win for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.

Tour producer Shelby Joyner of Black Promoters Collective hailed the upcoming run as a “cultural homecoming,” celebrating the duo’s legacy and their profound influence on R&B.

Brandy reflected, “Monica and I coming together again isn’t just about the music, it’s about honoring where we came from and how far we’ve both come,” adding that the tour is “a celebration of growth, sisterhood, and the love our fans have given us.”

Monica praised the enduring fan devotion, saying, “We’re giving the people what they’ve been asking for, and doing it with grace, love, and purpose. God’s timing perfectly aligned us.”

Fans in Detroit can expect a night of powerhouse vocals, soulful classics, and new collaborations backed by a live band. Tour organizers promise it will be “more than a concert,” calling it “a musical milestone.”
