The Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre Salutes Fathers June 15 and 16

Fathers are a big deal at The Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre, Detroit’s premiere summer concert venue located along the Detroit River. Hosting the legendary R&B singer Charlie Wilson, The Whispers and Lalah Hathaway, The Right Productions, who manages and operates The Aretha, is continuing to change the narrative about Fathers and Father Figures.

For the second consecutive year, The Right Productions will give gift bags to the first 500 fathers
who enter the venue doors June 16. Fathers and their loved ones are welcomed to purchase
tickets at The Aretha Box Office and through www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets are available
starting at $46.*

A range of gifts provided by several local contributors will be awarded during the show. Armond
Harris at Jabs Gym will gift 500 fathers with a one-month gym membership. Other contributors
include American Cancer Society, Comcast/Xfinity, ECS/McDonalds, House of Pure Vin,
Samsung and T-Mobile East Jefferson. In past years, dads were awarded gifts such as hotel
stays, a wardrobe makeover, a new grill, hats, car wash packages, wine, and autographed swag.
“My sons and I continue in our mission to change the narrative on Fathers, and we celebrate
them in a big way,” says Shahida Mausi, President, The Right Productions, Inc. “Our team
includes great men who will spend their Father’s Day helping to salute fathers. We are grateful
for the generous contributors who supported our vision.”

Notching ten No. 1 singles, 13 Grammy Award nominations, a New York Times best-selling
memoir and ongoing sold-out, coast-to-coast arena tour, Charlie Wilson is a signature voice. Hits
include: “Charlie Last Name: Wilson,” “There Goes My Baby,” “Can’t Live Without You,” ”You
Are” plus countless hits as lead singer of The Gap Band. Joining Charlie Wilson that weekend
