TEDxDetroit takes over the Fox Theatre

fox-marquee-6394TEDxDetroit returned for the eighth year of celebrating business and innovation in the Motor City at the Fox Theatre.
The event gathered creators, designers, thinkers and doers set to challenge the status quo, creating exciting new connections while inspiring each other.
Featuring live entertainment, local brands, products and TED Talks from locally known speakers Khary Turner of Coleman A. Young Foundation, Satori Shakoor of The Secret Society of Twisted Storytellers and Shamayim Harris of Avalon Village just to name a few.

Shamayim Harris offered some wisdom on pressing towards your vision. “Avalon Village has been a nine-year labor of love, and I plan to continue.” On how to stay passionate when your dreams are taking longer than you think they should to actualize, she shares what keeps her passion going is having seen the vision she knows what the end shall be and she just can’t stop until completion.
This year’s TEDxDetroit welcomed its largest crowd to date with over 2,500, including professionals from every top company and industry in the state and over 600 students and educators attending on scholarship.
