Native Detroiter Stephanie Byrd, is the co-owner of Flood’s Bar and Grille in Detroit’s Greektown community, The Garden Theater, and The Block – a casual, gastropub-style dining restaurant on Woodward Avenue between Selden and West Alexandrine streets in Midtown.

Stephanie is a graduate  of Mercy High school (Farmington Hills), she studied at Howard University in (Washington, D.C.), where she earned her Bachelors degree in marketing and communications. In addition she also attended Johns Hopkins University where she earned her Masters degree in communication and media studies.

After college Stephanie moved back to Washington D.C. for most of her 20s working in marketing at H&R Block, and XM Radio. In 2013, she moved back to Detroit to join her family’s restaurant business.

Stephanie has a busy community and civic engagement life  active as a minority small business advocate for campaign with the Joe Biden-Harris for president campaign. She also volunteers her time, talents and treasures with Alternatives for Girls, and she is a co-founding collaborator of Too Many Cooks in the Kitchen for Good – an initiative that helped feed the food insecure and Detroit homeless shelters during the COVID-19 pandemic.

During her leisure time Stephanie likes to travel, wellness/fitness activities, reading, and gardening.
