Jessica M. Ramirez is a flurry of activity.
Whether she is planning volunteer events, signing up to help at others or just trying to get
the word out that people should be good to each other, she stays on the move.
“It is God’s work,” the 38-year-old south-west Detroit resident said. “It is what my purpose is; to help people.”
Ramirez will participate in the ARISE Detroit! 12th annual Neighborhoods Day on
Aug.4. The event brings people from the city and the suburbs and businesses together for a day of volunteering. No project is too small and no idea too big.
Past projects have included cleaning blighted areas, making repairs to the homes of seniors and cultural presentations.
