Pool opening originally scheduled for June 15
Due to contractor delays, the Southfield Sports Arena Pool opening originally scheduled for Saturday, June 15 has been delayed until Monday, June 17.
The pool opening celebration will now take place Monday, June 17 from 1-6 p.m. at the Southfield Sports Arena located within the Southfield Municipal Complex at 26000 Evergreen Road. The free swim lessons scheduled for June 15 have been moved to June 22; however, all classes are already full.
The pool opening has been delayed due to re-plastering work that has been taking place at the Southfield Sports Arena Pool over the past few weeks. Contractors experienced equipment failures and other delays resulting from inclement weather which have caused the opening day postponement.
