Smith Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church will celebrate their 95th Anniversary in 2019. The culmination of this celebration will be a black–tie gala on October 19, 2019 at 6 p.m. The gala will be held at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, located at 315 E. Warren Ave., Detroit, Mich. 48201.
Smith Chapel Pastor Cindy Carr-Rudolph will be the host of this event, with Bishop John L. White, the Presiding Prelate of the 4th District of the AME Church, will serve as the keynote speaker. Rev. Dr. Ann Lightner Fuller will serve as the emcee and the Sunday Messenger.
Smith Chapel AME Church is the oldest church in Inkster. Over the years, it has been one of the pillars of the Inkster community. Under the leadership of Rev. Cindy Carr-Rudolph, the church is on its way to reclaiming past glories while ushering in a new era.
