The Color of Autism Foundation: Established in 2009 by Camille Proctor, this foundation was born out of her personal struggle to find appropriate autism services for her son. By deepening inner-city students’ networks and igniting their educational curiosity, Atlantic Impact ensures that learning extends beyond traditional classroom walls. At the core of their philosophy is the belief in the power of experiential learning as a catalyst for academic, economic, and professional growth. This approach is not just about imparting knowledge; it’s about empowering students to navigate and thrive in a global landscape.

Class Act Detroit: At the heart of Detroit’s vibrant community, Class Act Detroit emerges as a beacon of empowerment through music and arts education. This organization’s mission is deeply intertwined with promoting equity, fostering racial healing, and nurturing a sense of community among future generations, using the rich and diverse elements of hip-hop culture as its foundation. Recognizing the abundant creative talent among Detroit’s youth, Class Act Detroit has developed a unique educational model that incorporates MCing, DJing, dance, graffiti, and imparting knowledge. This approach goes beyond mere artistic expression; it’s a powerful tool for personal liberation and knowledge acquisition.
The program offers a range of meticulously designed projects and performances, which are not just about honing artistic skills but also about building identity, cultural understanding, and community engagement. Michigan Women Forward: Michigan Women Forward (MWF) stands as a pioneering institution, born from a groundbreaking meeting in 1986 led by Mary Jo Pulte. This gathering of 30 visionary Michigan women confronted a stark reality: a mere 3% of philanthropic dollars were allocated to programs benefitting women and girls in the United States. Resolute in shifting this imbalance, these women laid the foundation for what would become Michigan Women Forward, originally known as the Michigan Women’s Foundation. Distinguished as the only public, statewide foundation dedicated exclusively to the economic and personal advancement of Michigan’s women and girls, MWF has carved out a unique and vital role. As a certified community development financial institution (CDFI), MWF’s mission encompasses a broad spectrum of initiatives.

This non-profit organization is dedicated to a mission of monumental importance: aiding girls and young women in avoiding violence, early pregnancy, and exploitation. They provide an essential platform for these individuals to access the support, resources, and opportunities necessary to ensure their safety, personal growth, and the ability to make positive life choices.
