Michigan Senator Adam Hollier and Pastor Q are giving high school students a chance to win $1,000. High schoolers with a vested interest in community service must submit a video explaining why they should win, using the hashtag, #IFIHAD1STACK. The video can be posted on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. The deadline for video submissions is Jan. 24, 2020.
Both Adam Hollier and Pastor Q were driven by the works of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. which is the inspiration behind this challenge. “King always encouraged service and we figured, there are some great ideas in the community, oftentimes, resources are an issue,” said Q. “We want to see what would happen if we gave away $1,000 to one young person to do a community service project in their community.”
