Molina Health and Concerto sponsor event to address overwhelming need of area veterans and seniors
In an effort to address the needs of area veterans and seniors, the Experience People in Christ’s Service (EPICS) Ministry of Second Ebenezer Church is hosting a Forgotten Harvest Grocery Give. The event, being held at Second Ebenezer Church located at 14601 Dequindre from 1-4 pm, is sponsored by Molina Health and Concerto.
“It is important for us to remember that ministry doesn’t stop when we exit the doors of the church. There are great needs in our community and our EPICS Ministry does a great job of going outside the four walls of the church to take God’s love directly to the people. I am thankful to Forgotten Harvest, Molina Health and Concerto for sharing our vision and working with us to pull this month’s grocery giveaway off,” said Bishop Edgar Vann.
Comprised of seniors age 55 and above, the EPICS Ministry’s goal is to “be inventive while encouraging love and helping out.” Each month the EPICS Ministry hosts grocery giveaways with different organizations serving as event sponsor.
The Grocery Give is a much needed community service for our veterans and seniors. No one will go home empty handed. Our volunteers will be at the Second Ebenezer Church site early setting up and preparing to receive our families in need. The doors of the church will be open to welcome bless our guests with the fruits of love.
Bishop Vann does not limit his ministry to the church. He is Founder of the Vanguard Community Development Corporation, organized in 1994. Currently with a staff of 25, he is leading an entire community towards restoration, healing and empowerment. He is also committed to helping individuals destroy the yoke of poverty and affirm themselves with sound biblical principles.
Under his dynamic and able leadership, Second Ebenezer has grown in more than just numbers. There are more than 50 active and thriving ministries. This multi-talented man of God uses every spiritual gift given to him to spread the gospel. He preaches, teaches, leads, motivates, sings, directs and plays the keyboards and organ. He also consults to various federal, state and local officials and business leaders.
