Today marks the release of Sade’s gritty new single, “Soldier of Love,” from their first new studio album (also titled “Soldier of Love”) since the release of “Lovers Rock” that went multi-platinum in 2000.

If you are a true Sade fan, you know that, one, Sade is actually a group fronted by lead vocalist Helen Folasade Adu, and two, you would have heard the new release on their website yesterday.

Recorded in England and produced by the band and Mike Pela, a longtime collaborator, “Solider of Love” is slated for a worldwide release next year on Feb. 8.

Since their inception, Sade has won three Grammy Awards: Best New Artist, 1986; Best R&B Performance By A Duo or Group, 1994, for their song “No Ordinary Love”; and in 2002 for Best Pop Vocal Album for “Lovers Rock.”

Are you anticipating their full-length album?
