Run, Walk and Bike through the 2019 Wayne County Lightfest!

Registration Open for Wayne County Parks’ Lightfest Fun Run/Walk and Bike through the Lights

Experience the Wayne County Lightfest in Hines Park on foot or bike before it opens to vehicles. Participants in the 22ndannual Wayne County Lightfest 8K Fun Run/Walkon Tuesday, November 19 at 7:00 p.m.will have an opportunity to travel the Lightfest display route on foot. For bike enthusiasts, you will have a chance to Bike through the Lights 16K on Wednesday, November 20 at 7:00 p.m.

Participants will be among the first to view the wonderful displays, which includes new displays like the Snow Queen Castle, Marching Band and Ski Lodge, and favorites like the enchanting Celebration of Lights arch and Cecil the Magic Dragon. The Wayne County Lightfest officially opens on Thursday, November 21.

Participants can register online at HERE.

Online registration for both the Lightfest 8k Run/Walk and Bike through the Lights will be accepted until noon on November 16, 2019.  After noon on November 16, participants may register during packet pick-up in person at Merriman Hollow Park on November 18 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m or from 5:30 p.m. – 6:45 p.m. on event day.

  • The Lightfest 8k Run/Walk begins at 7:00 p.m. on November 19, 2019. The registration fee is $30 today through November 16 at noon. Registration at packet pick-up and event day will be $35. Fees for high school aged children and younger is $20 for pre-registration, at packet pickup and event day. Entry fees for the Lightfest 8k Run/Walk include a winter hat, medal and post-race snacks.
  • Bike through the Lightsbegins at 7:00 p.m. on November 20, 2019. The registration fee is $25 today through noon on November 16, the registration is $25. Registration at packet pick-up and event day will be $30. Fees for high school aged children and younger is $20 for pre-registration, at packet pickup and on event day. Entry fees for Bike through the Lights include a winter hat, bike light and post-race snacks.

Both events will take place in Merriman Hollow Park(7651 Merriman Road, Westland, MI 48185) which is located at Merriman Rd and Hines Drive, in Westland, 2 1/2 miles south of I-96.
