RTA Launches D2A2 Frequent Rider Passbook

Must read

The Regional Transit Authority of Southeast Michigan (RTA) has announced the introduction of the new D2A2 Frequent Rider Passbook, a discounted pass program aimed at providing significant savings for commuters traveling between Detroit and Ann Arbor on the D2A2 bus route. Effective immediately, passengers can now purchase a passbook containing 50 one-way trips for the price of $100, offering bus rides as low as $2 each way.

The frequent rider passbook program presents a remarkable 60 percent decrease in cost per ride when compared to purchasing individual tickets. This new purchase option offers greater flexibility and affordability, making it an ideal choice for regular commuters.

“With the successful ridership of D2A2 during the past year, we are delighted to provide an even more cost-effective commute between Ann Arbor and Detroit with this new passbook,” said Ben Stupka, RTA Program Manager. “We encourage commuters to take advantage of this excellent option for increased savings.”

In addition to the new 50-ride passbook, the RTA will continue to offer a book of 10 one-way trips between Detroit Grand Circus Park and Ann Arbor Blake Transit Center for $50. All passes are valid for one year, starting from the chosen date, and they are non-refundable and non-transferable.

To purchase a travel passbook, commuters are required to create an account or log into their existing account on the D2A2 website. Passengers are advised to log into their accounts to make travel pass reservations and manage bookings seamlessly.

Recent updates to the D2A2 service include extended operations for the summer season. First, the Midnight Summer Run was introduced on June 1 and will continue until Labor Day (Sept. 4). Additionally, an extra mid-evening round trip has been added on weekends.

“The RTA is committed to enhancing transportation options and promoting accessible and affordable commuting solutions for residents to foster growth through mobility in our region,” added Stupka. “The introduction of the D2A2 Frequent Rider Passbook further demonstrates our dedication to providing convenient and cost-effective transportation services.”

D2A2, a collaboration between the RTA and the Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority (TheRide), was launched in 2020, shortly before the onset of the pandemic. The express bus service is operated by Michigan Flyer.

For inquiries or assistance, the D2A2 customer service team is available Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. They can be contacted at (517) 333-0400 or via email at info@michiganflyer.com. The RTA aims to provide excellent customer support and ensure a seamless commuting experience for all passengers.
