Rock Family of Companies Stepping Up to Assist Hospitals During COVID-19 Fight

Rocket Mortgage, Quicken Loans and Rock Family of Companies are leading an aggressive campaign to aid hospitals during the current crisis.  They are spearheading the effort in establishing partnerships to manufacture supplies, acquire and deliver supplies as well as showing appreciation for frontline hospital workers.

“As Detroit’s largest employer, we recognize our critical role in serving the members of our community,” said Jay Farner, CEO of Rocket Mortgage and Quicken Loans. “This is a time for the public and private sectors to come together for a common goal, and we encourage the entire business community to use everything at their disposal to support our essential frontline workers who are working tirelessly to reduce the spread of coronavirus.”

Support for hospital staff includes a partnership between Quicken Loans, the Industrial Sewing and Innovation Center (ISAIC), and Carhartt.  Quicken Loans is purchasing a mask production line machine. ISAIC will train and operate the production in a facility provided by Carhartt. Production is expected to produce 500,000 masks weekly.

Rocket Mortgage and the Rock Family of Companies are immediately supplying 100,000 N95 masks to local hospitals and health care providers. In addition, the companies are contracting with private and cargo air crafts for immediate delivery of personal protection equipment, ventilators, and dialysis machines to the Detroit area.

“At a time like this, our community needs to come together and we are sincerely appreciative of the organization’s generosity,” said Beaumont Health COO Carolyn Wilson.

As a thank you to frontline workers, the Rock Family of Companies will also provide food delivery to local hospitals.

Previously, the Quicken Loans Community Fund and Gilbert Family Foundation donated $1.2 million for Detroit COVID-19 relief.

Rock Family of Companies team members have donated more than $500,000 to local nonprofits including Detroit Area Agency on Aging, Focus: HOPE, Forgotten Harvest and Gleaners Community Food Bank.

Quicken Loans and Rock Connections have also donated their call center operations and team members for appointment scheduling for the drive-up COVID-19 testing site at the Michigan State Fairgrounds.

“We continue to be overwhelmed by the support and generosity from our community,” said Henry Ford Health System’s President of Healthcare Operations and Chief Operating Officer Bob Riney. “Having strong community partners like the Rock Family of Companies will only strengthen our resolve to protect our frontline workers as we fight this pandemic.”
