During her previous stint on the “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” Sheree Whitfield’s storyline was how she was working to create a life without her husband, former NFL star Bob Whitfield.

Recent RHOA episodes have shown how both Sheree and Bob Whitfield have started to rekindle the relationship they had when they were married.

“Bob and I are working on getting to know each other again. We both have grown a lot and are in a different space than we were when we were married. We are in the process of relearning each other. I can say that we are happy with how things are going and our children our happy. #LifeIsGood for #TheWhitfields,” Sheree wrote for BRAVO TV.

Bob Whitfield shares Sheree’s sentiments.

“Here’s the thing, the previous relationship was so damaged,” Bob said in a recent interview. “Two adults, we wouldn’t dare to venture into a relationship, but we are exploring each other’s company, I will say.”

Bob Whitfield advised they are taking things slowly.

“Having been around the person, you can in your mind think about, ‘Hey, it used to be good when it was good, but when it was bad, it was hella bad,’” he said. “So when you get to the person, you might be like, ‘S***, I need to have my knife in my back pocket just in case.’”

Bob Whitfield said the occasion that ignited their relationship was their daughter’s birthday last July.

“It started because of the birthday party,” he said. “It was kind of a festive occasion and it was a bowling alley party. So now drinks are involved, jokes are involved, different type of mood. So then it’s like, ‘Let’s try breakfast…’ take it easy and just go little bit by little.”

“We had our differences and our problems,” he continues, “but I never just gave up on her. I feel like I’ve invested a lot. We’ve invested a lot in each other, so I’m not going to just scrap my investment to her. You kept the name for a reason.”

Here’s what else they had to say:
