“The Powerful Women, is an empowerment organization that aims to cultivate a culture of excellence for women,” said founder Meagan Ward. This year’s Powerful Women’s Weekend created an opportunity for women to connect, educate themselves and celebrate one another.

Women from across the United States attended the conference to participate in workshops and interactive activities that focused on brand empowerment, financial literacy, and self-worth. “The experience has been amazing,” said attendee Bria Renee. “I’ve had the chance to connect with great women who are doing great things.”

I had the opportunity to sit down one-on-one and connect with some of those great women. Jereshia Hawk, transmission pipeline engineer by day and founder of Goal Getter Group by night, is dedicated to preparing and advancing the empowerment of millennials. She urges women to take the time to discover themselves. “Create space in your world to be still so that you can learn who you are and learn to fall constantly in love with yourself.”

Tonya Rapley, the creator of My Fab Finance, uses her story and experience to provide women the tools necessary to break the cycle of living paycheck to paycheck. She offered three financial pieces of advice; “(1) create boundaries around your finances – no one is going to protect your finances like you will, (2) become knowledgeable about what you don’t know or hire someone is, and (3) just start – don’t put it off.”

My conversations with these women were just a glimpse inside all of the empowering and encouraging words and from the speakers, panelists, and attendees. Toni Jones, program coordinator and founder of Wife Comma, strongly believes that The Powerful Women’s Weekend is a valuable experience to help women grow and engage in authentic sisterhood.
