Piper Carter Founder of We Found HipHop Celebrates Women’s History Month

Piper Carter is the founder of We Found HipHop, an organization empowering women and girls through HipHop.

“Women Rapping Revolution: Hip Hop and Community Building in Detroit” is a book based on the chronicles of the cultural movement We Found HipHop written by Rebekah Farrugia and Kellie D. Hay and published by​ University of California Press​. This is a research project to raise awareness of this community and their experiences creating this movement in Detroit. During Women’s History Month in celebration of the one-year book anniversary join Carter’s virtual book club focusing on the book with the author in a virtual series on her Instagram​ @PiperCarter and @WeFoundHipHop.
