Detroit’s dining scene welcomes a new destination as Union Square Hospitality Group opens Pine Hall, a cocktail-driven tavern located atop Hudson’s Detroit. The venue marks the hospitality company’s first project in the city and draws inspiration from The Pine Room, the iconic restaurant once housed inside the historic J.L. Hudson Department Store.

Located on the 12th floor, Pine Hall features seating for 300 guests, a 3,300-square-foot outdoor terrace overlooking Woodward Avenue and Comerica Park, and a menu designed around elevated tavern favorites and craft cocktails.

The beverage program highlights Michigan-made spirits and regional ingredients, with signature drinks including the Detroit Vice, as well as updated takes on classics such as the martini with their Ice Cold Martini. A Midwest-focused beer selection, curated wine list, and nonalcoholic offerings round out the menu.

On the food side, guests can expect comfort-driven dishes including Deviled Eggs, Crab Fritters, a Hudson’s inspired Maurice Salad, Boneless Fried Chicken, and the signature Pine Hall Burger. Desserts include Detroit’s beloved Bumpy Cake and rotating soft-serve flavors.

The space incorporates local artwork, vintage-inspired design elements, and music programming curated around Detroit DJs. As Hudson’s Detroit continues to grow as a hub for hospitality and entertainment, Pine Hall aims to become a new gathering, capturing the downtown energy.
