Palmer Park Art Fair back in 2015

Revived in May after a 30 years absence, the Palmer Park Art Fair will return in 2015 with more artists and a youth artist section aimed at teens from the Detroit area.
The number of artists at the fair in Palmer Park will grow from 45 that ringed the lake this spring to around 70 next year. Integrity Shows also is creating an emerging artists area for high school students, which will include up to twenty artists to display and sell their creative products.
“With the revival of the Palmer Park Art Fair, we have never had a better response from both patrons and artists. The only thing patrons asked for was more artists. That’s why we’re making room for them around the lake,” said Mark Loeb, president of Integrity Shows, the event organizer.  Artists from around the country – and the world – are welcome to apply. Professional artists applications are open on Zapplication through March 15
The Palmer Park Art Fair is produced by the People for Palmer Park, a non-profit that assists the city in maintaining the park, and by Integrity Shows, a Detroit based company that produces art fairs.
High school aged artists are invited to apply and compete for 20 to 25 table spaces from which to sell their artwork. Integrity also plans to offer a workshop and other support so the artists are prepared to sell and promote their creative works. Details are at PalmerParkArtFair.com.
The event is seeking businesses interested in supporting the arts in Detroit, through partnerships and underwriting of special programs.  The 2014 Palmer Park Art Fair was supported by The Home Depot, HAP, Meade Lexus and many community based groups.  “It’s a blessing to be able to restore a Detroit tradition, right in my own neighborhood,” Loeb said, who thanked sponsors and the artists who are participating in the artists committee for the show.
Detroit’s first lady, Lori Maher Duggan is serving as honorary chair and six Detroit based artists are on the artists committee. The artists committee assists with creative decisions including jurying artists who apply will be selected to participate in the 2015 Palmer Park Art Fair
