Operation: Holiday Hope Provides 48,000 lbs. of Free Groceries for Easter

Back by popular demand, Views Bar & Grill is back in partnership with Tony Harrison, iHeartMedia (WJLB & WMDX) and Royal Ryderz to giveaway 48,000 lbs. of free groceries to families for Easter.

Operation: Holiday Hope is a not-for-profit program provided by owners Darius Statum and Brian Sullivan to give back to Detroit communities. On April 18, 2019 at 10:00 a.m., Views Bar and Grill located at 24200 Grand River Avenue in Detroit, Statum and Sullivan, along with their team, will be prepared to serve almost 1,000 families. With Operation: Holiday Hope, the team will give each family two bags of groceries to help families celebrate Easter. There will also be light refreshments served by volunteers during the giveaway.

“This is our second time around giving the city Operation:Holiday Hope. Our mission is to make sure that every holiday, a family doesn’t go without,” said Statum, “we will continue to make this happen for each and every holiday so we can keep our families together in our communities.”

The grocery giveaway is first-come, first-served. The groceries are paid for by the Views Bar and Grill staff. A food truck will arrive with over 48,000 pounds of fresh vegetables, canned goods, perishables and small giveaways. There are no stipulations and every family in need will be able to receive donations.

“Easter is quickly approaching and we wanted to get an early start by getting the families their groceries well before the holiday so they can be prepared on the day of, said Sullivan. “Come Easter morning, families can gather around the table and continue creating lasting memories.”
