Wayne County Executive Warren C. Evans welcomes citizens and visitors to the opening weekend of the Wayne County Family Aquatic Center Saturday, May 23, 2015. The park will be open during the Memorial Day weekend Saturday-Monday. The hours of operation are 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
The Family Aquatic Center at Chandler Park will be open daily starting Saturday, June 13, 2015 through Labor Day weekend from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The water park will be open on Saturdays and Sundays only until then. The entrance fee for Wayne County residents is $2 for children under 2 years old, $5 for children ages 3-12 and $7 for adults.
“The Wayne County Aquatic Center is a clean, safe place for recreational activity and a great place for children to cool off during the summer,” said Executive Evans. “Now in its 18th season, the water park is one of many ways Wayne County residents and visitors can enjoy the summer months,” Evans added.
Wayne County’s largest family water park sits on more than 22,000 square feet of beautifully landscaped grounds on Detroit’s eastside. The facility also features a wave pool, two super-sized water slides, a children’s pool play land, a sundeck/picnic area and much more.
