OCC Names Eunice Jeffries as Director of Government and Community Relations  

Oakland Community College [OCC] recently named Eunice Jeffries as director of government and community relations.  Jeffries brings over 25 years of experience in government and community affairs and community service to this new position, according to an OCC press release.

In her new position with OCC, Jeffries will be responsible for developing and managing government and community relations plans to advance the college’s goals with key external constituencies.  

“Ms. Jeffries has both the depth of professional experience and personal qualities that are a perfect fit for this new role at OCC, and I am confident she will be able to expand the College’s vital relationships with government and community leaders,” said Dan Jenuwine, Vice Chancellor for Advancement.

 

Jeffries most recently was the regional director of Read to a Child, a national nonprofit responsible for fostering a love of reading and improving literacy for elementary school students.  She was also a regional community affairs manager at Beaumont Health and has served on the staffs of a U.S. Senator, Michigan Governor and Michigan Secretary of State.

Jeffries is also civically involved in the Farmington Hills community where she lives, and was previously the executive director of the Farmington/Farmington Hills Foundation for Youth and Families.

“She also brings a unique perspective to this position as a member of the Eastern Michigan University Board of Regents, where she serves as chairman of the board and chair of the Finance Committee,” Jenuwine added.

Jeffries earn a master of business administration from Northwood University and a bachelor of science degree in accounting and business administration from Fisk University.
