The public is invited to the 38th Annual Noel Night on Saturday, Dec. 4, 5-9:30 p.m., in the Midtown Cultural Center, presented by the University Cultural Center Association.

It is a celebration of Metro Detroit’s diverse holiday traditions amid the state’s premier arts and cultural institutions, historic churches and neighborhood galleries — all free of charge. There will be horse-drawn carriage rides, carolers, music, dance, children’s activies, arts & crafts, shopping and tasty treats.

Over 60 venues will offer special holiday programming to welcome Noel Night visitors during the Cultural Season “open house.”

Among the small retail businesses participating are Biggby Coffee, the Hellenic Museum of Michigan, Kim’s Produce, Midtown Shangri La, Goods and the Raw Café.

Over 120 performances will be offered, including those of Thornetta Davis, the Hudson Vagabond Puppets, Lac La Belle, the Barrettes and Satori Santa.  Also, Melvin Davis & the United Sound, Audra Mae, Mr. B, Rachel Davis, Breathe Owl Breathe, the Satin Dolls,  Valeria Montes La Chispa and PuppetART.

A variety of Christmas trees will be for sale outside of Wayne State’s old Main Building, located between Warren Avenuue and Hancock Street. The festivities will conclude with the annual community sing-along led by the Salvation Army Band at the Woodward Avenue Bandstand.
