The National Association of Women Business Owners – Greater Detroit Chapter (NAWBO-GDC), recently honored Robin Cole, president and chief executive officer of Professional Medical Centers with the Top 10 Michigan Business Women Up and Coming Award. This honor is given to women business owners for their contribution to the business field, innovation as business owners and commitment to their communities.
Cole received the Up and Coming award as an emerging and promising business woman owning a business for five years or less that “aspires to inspire”, a slogan that resonates with the theme of this year’s awards ceremony.
Professional Medical Centers operates five multi-specialty healthcare centers located throughout the metropolitan Detroit area. Cole recently expanded into Oakland County, now operating a medical facility located in the city of Southfield.
Professional Medical Centers educate patients – and the surrounding community – on preventative care, health screenings and physical examinations for the treatment and management of chronic conditions. With such ailments as high blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol and heart disease that are major pitfalls for the African American community, Cole and her staff of doctors and clinicians aid the community by offering methods to a healthier lifestyle.
Cole is committed to provide health care services for the disadvantaged. She plans to continue to be an outspoken healthcare advocate by leading community-based initiatives to stem rising human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), obesity rates and associated health conditions in Detroit and the metro area.
