R&B Artist KEM had a homecoming of the ages, singing and recording live his performances in front of sold out crowds at The Aretha Franklin amphitheater in Detroit this past weekend.  The three time grammy nominated recording artist, decided to commemorate his 20 years at Motown with two special live recorded performances that will be released on November 25, 2022.   KEM signed with Motown Records in 2002, after independently releasing his debut album KEMISTRY, selling over 15,000 copies out the trunk of his car.

KEM is no stranger to The Aretha (formally Chene Park), as he has performed several times over recent years there.  And it’s not surprising the two shows sold out, as he is just coming off his sold out “Full Circle” tour.  He has had a number of hits on the R&B charts including his first number one single from the KEMISTRY album, “Love Calls”.  The once homeless Singer who grew up in the Detroit area, talked to the crowd about his success and blessings from God.  He has shared publicly on numerous occasions about being homeless and his past challenges with addiction.  During his performance, he also praised his Wife, Erica, whom he married in 2019, calling her the “love of his life”.

Songstress Tamia opened for KEM on Friday night’s show.  The Windsor, Ontario born and raised singer is known for hit songs “Stranger In My House”, “Spend My Life With You”, “and “Into You”.  She is married to Grant Hill.  He formerly played for the NBA’s Detroit Pistons and came on stage at the end of her performance to give her a kiss.  Saturday’s opener was American Neo Soul Duo Kindred the Family Soul.
